Written by dustin on November 30th, 2011

The Annual General Meeting for the Wild Rose Motocross Association has been called for Friday January 27th.  The meeting will take place at the Cardel Homes Theater at 6:30pm.

The main purpose is to elect the 2012 board of directors and pass the 2011 financial report.  It is also a great time to ask questions about the events of the year, give us feed back and discuss ideas for 2012 with the board and other members.

Anyone can attend, but you have to be a valid WRMA member over the age of 16 to vote.  Non member parents of any number of children under the age of 16 can have one vote as well.

Any member in good standing can be nominated to run for a spot on the board of directors.  Directors are elected to a two year term.  Directors attend meetings to make decisions on how to run the park and may take further roles in volunteering or jobs at the park if desired.

Cardel homes Theater is located at 180 Quarry Park Blvd SE, Calgary, T2C-3G3

Cardel Theater is offered to not for profit organizations like WRMA for only the cleaning charge of the room.  In return Cardel Theater appreciates a donation for the food bank.  Also please note there is no smoking in the Cardel Homes parking lot please.

Do your part for Moto Democracy!  See you at the AGM!  If you have any questions please call the recording 240-4025 and leave a message or email via dustin@wildrosemx.com

New for 2011- Trailer Parking Policy

Written by dustin on April 20th, 2011

For those of you who like to park their RVs and trailers at the track to prevent hauling them back and forth we have an official policy for 2011.  Beginning immediately indefinite trailer parking is for members only.  Non members can park trailers at the track for up to 3 nights at a time.  All trailers or RV’s left overnight in the park will need to be registered at the entrance gate.  Don’t worry there is no charge for members to park their RVs at the track.  As usual there is no camping at the track except for events.  For a complete list of the rules regarding RV parking at the track visit the rider info section of this site.

WRMA Track Twitter!

Written by dustin on January 30th, 2011

We asked at the AGM and you responded with a big yes!  For 2011 WRMA is starting a twitter account for track and event updates and openings/weather info.

If you don’t know about Twitter it is simply a messaging net work.  Go to twitter.com and sign up then choose to follow wildrosemx by email or text to your cell.  When we send out a twitter that the track will be open for example you will get a tweet saying just that.  No more having to call the recording, if you don’t want to.  We can even attach pictures to our tweets to show you the conditions.

Dont worry we won’t overwhelme you with tweets just when something noteworthy is going on.  When we are first opening after a closure for example or when we might have to close unexpectedly due to weather or to let you know what it is like if the weather has been questionable.  We will also do event reminders, for example if mini motos was first starting up.

It is free other than the regular text or data costs your cell phone provider charges.

The WRMA recording hot line 403 240-4025 will still be active and updated if you prefer to stick with that.

Sign up today and be on top of the latest WRMA track tweets!

Stuff It! Repack Your Silencer

Written by dustin on June 25th, 2009

We have received a few complaints lately from members who have noticed too many loud bikes on the track.  Now is the time of year that many riders silencers desperately need repacking.  On a four stroke, especially with after market silencers you will need to repack every couple months or more.

On the plus side your bike will make more power and will be less likely to get the park a noise complaint.  In addition a silencer can be damaged if run too long with out packing, and will not be covered under warranty since it was not maintained properly.

The best repacking kits now come with a steel wool inner core as they last much longer.  If you are allergic to working on your bike any good shop can do the work.  Check out WRMA sponsors like Blackfoot Motorsports, Bow Cycle, RDS, Seitzco and Walt Healy.
